Charts, tables and numbers

Real chart and table objects wired to your figures, not pictures of them.

Charts and tables built in Riplo Slides are real objects. You can click into a table cell and retype it, and a chart keeps its underlying numbers rather than being flattened into an image. That matters most at the end, when someone asks you to change one figure an hour before the meeting.

Give it the numbers directly

Paste the figures into the request, or point at the document they are in. Say what the chart is supposed to prove, not just what shape you want, and you will usually get a better axis and a better title.

Add a slide showing quarterly gross margin for the last eight quarters: 31, 30, 28, 27, 27, 25, 24, 22. The point is that the decline is steady rather than a one-off, so pick a chart that makes the trend obvious and title it with the finding, not with Gross Margin by Quarter.

Table formatting

Tables default to a restrained consulting style: no heavy outer box, no vertical rules running through the body, and light horizontal lines between rows. If your template calls for something different, say so and it will follow the template.
